The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes (CSKT), in partnership with the Montana Department of Transportation (MDT), will begin initial drilling on the US 93: Post Creek Hill project beginning tentatively Tuesday, January 21. Drilling work is in preparation for the installation of groundwater monitoring devices that will aid in the design of the bridge foundations.
Crews will be present near the Post Creek Hill bridge on US Highway 93. Automated traffic signals will direct alternating single-lane traffic through the work zone. Weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting, the work will take place for approximately five weeks. Please expect about a 10-minute delay when traveling this route.
CSKT, MDT, and its partners are currently in the design phase of the US 93 North—Post Creek Hill project, which will reconstruct US 93 from Red Horn Road/Dublin Gulch Road to Gunlock Road/Olsen Road, including safety and accessibility enhancements and wildlife accommodations.
A public open house is planned to share details and surrounding project information. It will also allow the project team to gather feedback and answer questions. More information will be provided closer to the anticipated date. Please continue to check this website for these dates.
Full active construction is tentatively planned to begin in 2027. This schedule is subject to change due to funding availability, final design completion, and other unforeseen factors.
